 In a horrific incident reported from Maharashtra, a 22-year-old man allegedly raped a cow at a shelter in Pune district. The man has been booked under Section 377 (unnatural sex with the animal) of the Indian Penal Code.
The accused has been identified as 22-year-old Deepak Rajwade, a resident of Kusgaon in Pune. The complaint in this regard was filed by one Satish Dagdu Kokare. He claimed the incident took place on May 31 when he heard a sudden bellowing of his cow.
When he came out to see what was happening, Kokare said he was shocked to see the man forcing himself on the cow. The entire criminal act was caught on CCTV camera. The complainant said he immediately recognised the accused Deepak.
As the complainant and his family gathered at the spot, Deepak fled the scene.
The family immediately informed the police who reached the spot and arrested the accused. The FIR has been filed at Lonavla police station.
In a similar incident in April this year, a man allegedly raped a cow in Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow. The accused Majid was later arrested by the police from Daroga Khera in Sarojni Nagar area. Though the incident took place on April 23, the matter came to light after the accused’s neighbour was going through the CCTV footage near the crime spot.
