Saharanpur: In a shocking incident reported from Uttar Pradesh, a girl, who was abducted from Andhra Pradesh and brought to Saharanpur, was pushed into Hathnikund Barrage after the accused looted her jewellery and cash.
Meanwhile, Andhra police have arrested two persons with the help of Saharanpur police. The two accused have been identified as Wasit Ahmad, a resident of Sangam Vihar in Saharanpur, and Tayyab, a native of Manakmau.
Police said the girl, a resident of Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh, came into contact with the two accused. On July 11, the accused lured the girl to come with them and brought her to Saharanpur.
The victim had also brought cash and jewellery with her. Her family members had filed a missing report in Vijaywada following which the local police launched a hunt for the girl.
On July 28, Andhra cops got the information that the girl was in Saharanpur. A police team reached UP and initiated a probe. Andhra Police informed SSP Saharanpur who directed Than Mandi police to assist the Andhra police.
Later, the police team arrested both the accused.
According to police, the accused told them that they pushed the girl in Hathnikund Barrage on July 18 after snatching her jewellery.
Police have now taken the help of divers to search for the missing girl in the Yamuna river. So far, there was no clue about the girl.
