While the incident of rape of a young girl by a police officer is fresh, another horrific incident has taken place in Uttar Pradesh. A woman has been stripped naked and beaten with a belt by the Uttar Pradesh Police on charges of theft. Not only that, the victim was taken to a closed room and subjected to third degree torture. The incident took place in the Lalitpur Police Thane area of Uttar Pradesh.
A female police sub-inspector along with a police constable was suspended following a complaint lodged by the victim. She has also been charged.
According to the information received, the victim is working as a cook and cleaner in the house of a person named Anshu. Anshu is working as a police constable in Mehrauni police station. On May 2, the victim had gone to Anshu’s house to cook as usual. Anshu’s wife then locked the door and locked the victim in the house. After this, Anshu’s wife called him and called him at home.
Anshu brought a female sub-inspector of police, Parul Chandela, with her from the police station. And began investigating the victim about the theft. Not only that, at around 8 pm, Anshu and Parul Chandela, a female police officer, turned off the lights in the house. And stripped the victim naked and beat her with a bandage. Meanwhile, the victim repeatedly said that she did not commit theft. However, Anshu and Chandela were still beating the victim.
Their cruelty was so great that they poured water on the victim’s body and repeatedly gave her an electric shock.
Meanwhile, both the policemen brought the victim to the police station so that the case would not escalate. He also allegedly assaulted the victim’s husband, claiming that there was an argument between the husband and wife.
The local media took notice of the atrocities committed on the victim. A case has been registered against the accused police constable Anshu Patel, his wife and female inspector Parul Chandel. Both the policemen have also been suspended. The action has been taken following the order of the Superintendent of Police.
