Shivsena MP Bhavana Gawli‘s troubles are likely to increase further. Bhavana Gawali has been summoned by the ED in a money laundering case in Mahila Utkarsh Pratishthan. Gawli has been ordered to appear for questioning next week. Sources also said that ED is likely to issue a non-bailable warrant if she does not appear for questioning. Earlier, the ED had summoned Bhavana Gawli three times.
However, she did not appear for the inquiry even once. Emotions have been on the ED’s radar for days. Earlier in September, the ED had raided five of Gawli’s institutions. Saeed Khan was later arrested in the case. Gawli had earlier been summoned on October 4 on the basis of information leaked during Saeed Khan’s interrogation. Gawli was then summoned again 15 days later.
But even then, Gawli was absent from the inquiry. Even after the third summons, Bhavana Gawli did not appear for questioning.
Bhavana Gawli is accused of embezzling Rs 100 crore from Balaji Particle Board factory. The ED had seized several documents from Bhavana Gawli’s raids at Washim-Yavatmal.
On August 30, the ED conducted raids on MP Bhavana Gawli’s educational institutes and agricultural production institutes. The raids were carried out at about nine places. MPs are also alleging that a scam has taken place in the Balaji Particle Board factory.
