Five members of ‘Veershaiva Lingayat Gawali Samaj‘ panchayat have been booked by Pune police for allegedly socially boycotting a family following an inter-caste marriage.

Pangudwale, who also belongs to Lingayat Gawli community, alleged his family was socially boycotted by the panchayat after his son married a girl from another caste a few years back.

“The Pangudwale family lodged an FIR at Dattawadi police station on December 4. However, police did not take immediate action in this case,” said Nandini Jadhav, an activist fighting against social boycott incidents.
