Kidnapping an IT manager claiming to be a crime branch officer

The kidnapping and robbery of an IT company manager claiming to be a crime branch officer has come to light in Dindoshi. Mumbai’s Dindoshi police have arrested two brothers in connection with the abduction. Dindoshi police have also seized a Hyundai car.

Ravi Chhotelal Jaiswar (20) is working as a manager at Goregaon East Infinity IT Park. On June 11, while Jaiswar was on his way home from work, accused Harish Shadappa Gaikwad (27) and Chandrakant Shadappa Gaikwad (32) stopped Ravi’s vehicle. Jaiswar started beating him, threatening to implicate him in a false crime, claiming that he was a crime branch officer.

The duo then took Jaiswar to an ATM, forcibly took Rs 2,000 from his account and beat him up. The two also made a video of the beating. He also demanded Rs 10,000 next time and confiscated Jaiswar’s ATM card, Aadhar card, PAN card and iCard.

Jaiswar reported the incident to Dindoshi police, who filed a case of kidnapping and extortion. A team of API Chandrakant Gharge of Dindoshi police station arrested the two accused brothers by extracting information from the number plate of the car. They both sell fruits and vegetables in Malad Janakalyan Nagar. Both of them had been threatening the manager for a long time by posing as a fake officer.
