Kirsten Dunst just made it official with Plemons, Jesse Plemons partner of six years. The actor and Plemons, the father of her two children, got married last week at the GoldenEye resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, a rep for Dunst confirmed to Page Six. Dunst, was nominated for her first Oscar this year and has had a Hollywood career of more than 30 years. Her breakout role arrived opposite Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in Interview With The Vampire (1994) – she received a Golden Globe nomination for playing child vampire Claudia. When Dunst spoke to NJ Advance Media in 2019, she casually referred to Plemons as her husband. In the years since, they had just never gotten around to making it official, between the Covid-19 pandemic the following year and her second pregnancy in 2021.

Earlier this year, Dunst, 40, and Plemons, 34, were both up for Oscars for their performances in Jane Campion’s best picture nominee The Power Of The Dog. In 2019, for Dunst’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony, Plemons told the story of how he met Dunst at the airport in Los Angeles. He was buying magazines and battling nerves as he prepared to fly to Canada for work. “Out of nowhere, from behind, I hear a voice call my name and I turn to see Kirsten,” Plemons said. “Immediately, without too many words being exchanged, I looked into her eyes and saw the beautiful, sweet, unguarded, welcoming human being that she is. And it was truly in an instant. And immediately my nerves and anxiety dissolved and I knew everything was going to be all right.” They first got to know each other in 2015 on the set of the FX series Fargo (filmed in Calgary, where Plemons was headed that day in the airport). Their fictional marriage predated their relationship. Plemons and Dunst played Ed and Peggy Blumquist in the series, for which Dunst received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and Plemons was nominated for an Emmy. Dunst and Plemons became a couple in 2016 and got engaged in 2017. Dunst gave birth to their first son Ennis Howard, four, in 2018. The actor had her second child with Plemons, son James Robert, one, in 2021. In The Power Of The Dog, Dunst plays Rose Gordon, a widow and proprietor of a restaurant in 1920s Montana. Rose marries Plemons’ character, George Burbank, business partner and brother of rancher Phil Burbank (Benedict Cumberbatch). So the actors were “married” onscreen twice before they tied the knot.

Dunst can next be seen in the sci-fi movie Civil War, directed by Alex Garland (AnnihilationEx Machina). Back in the 1990s, Dunst played a young Amy March in Little Women opposite Winona Ryder and Claire Danes. As a teen, she forged an enduring creative partnership with director Sofia Coppola starting with the filmmaker’s 1999 directorial debut, The Virgin Suicides. Dunst also played Coppola’s Marie Antoinette (2006) and starred in her 2017 take on Civil War drama The Beguiled.

Dunst’s other memorable roles include Betsy Jobs, one of a pair of 1970s teens with Michelle Williams in the Nixon-era comedy Dick (1999), Amber Atkins in the beauty pageant movie Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999) and cheerleader Torrance Shipman in Bring It On (2000). The actor is also known for playing Mary Jane Watson in the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies directed by Sam Raimi in the 2000s. In 2011, Dunst won best actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her performance as Justine in Lars Von Trier’s Melancholia. She received a Golden Globe nomination in 2020 for her starring role as Krystal Stubbs in the Showtime dramedy On Becoming A God In Central Florida, a show she co-produced. Plemons, a Dallas native, had his breakout role as Landry Clarke in the TV series Friday Night Lights in 2006. His other roles include Todd Alquist in AMC’s Breaking Bad and Netflix’s El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. He received a second Emmy nomination for an episode of Black Mirror in 2018. His film work includes the Oscar-nominated movies Judas And The Black Messiah and Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman.
