In a horrific incident reported from Tiruchirappalli district of Tamil Nadu, a Class 11 girl student was brutally stabbed over 10 times by a jilted lover on Tuesday. The incident took place in Manapparai town of the district.
The 16-year-old victim is said to be in a critical condition. The accused has been identified as 22-year-old Kesavan who was ‘upset’ after the girl rejected his proposal.
The girl student was stabbed by Kesavan when she was returning home after completing her exam. Kesavan stopped the girl near a railway bridge and stabbed her more than 10 times after a verbal altercation and fled the spot.
The girl was immediately rushed to the hospital by the bystanders. The condition of the girl is said to be critical.Meanwhile, a body of a man was found near the railway track in Manapparai on Tuesday night. Police also found a mobile phone near the body. Later, Kesavan’s father identified the body.
Kesavan, who had been stalking the girl for long, was earlier arrested under POCSO for kidnapping the victim in 2021 and was released from jail recently.
