Mumbai: MP Navneet Rana has been shifted from Byculla Jail to JJ Hospital. Rana’s lawyers had told the court that he needed to be taken to hospital for treatment as she was suffering from back pain.
Rana’s lawyers had also sought permission from the Byculla jail superintendent to allow her to be taken out for treatment. Finally, Navneet Rana has been shifted from Byculla Jail to JJ Hospital.
The Rana couple had come to Mumbai from Amravati and tried to chase away the Shiv Sainiks along with the Chief Minister, warning that they would recite Hanuman Chalisa outside Matoshri.
Due to his warning, Shiv Sainiks in Mumbai had become very aggressive. Moreover, Rana’s statement was said to have created a rift between the two communities and Mumbai Police had taken action against him.
A case was also registered against the Rana couple for arguing with the police when they went to their house to arrest the couple. After that, the Rana couple’s difficulties increased. Police arrested MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana. The Rana couple went to the police cell that night. He was produced before the court on Sunday. The court had remanded him in police custody for 14 days.
