Following the heinous offence, the accused, identified as Manish Naik, was arrested by the Powai police. During interrogation, the cops found out that Naik took this extreme step after his wife apprised him that his mother is in a physical relation with Rajesh Vaidya, who was employed as a housekeeping supervisor, under whom he was unemployed.
Meanwhile, Vaidya was rushed to the medical facility but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries owing to excess loss of blood. As per reports, it was Vaidya’s brother Dharamvir who spotted him with stab injuries in a parked auto-rickshaw around 7 am on Friday.

Furnishing more information on the case, a police officer stated, “Vaidya tried to escape but got killed. Naik on witnessing Vaidya getting into physical relations barged into the house and after a verbal feud stabbed his back. Somehow, Vaidya put on his pants and ran out of the house. Naik too chased him and stabbed in his chest, ” according to the police.
