Two journalists shot at in restaurant in Sonbhadra

Lucknow: The law seems to be out of order in Uttar Pradesh with criminals seeem to be having no fear of police. In a fresh incident, two journalists were shot at in a restaurant while they were having a tea on Thursday evening.
The incident took place Raipur police station area in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh. The scribes were immediately rushed to Banaras Hindu University’s Medical College.

Their condition is said to be stable. The victims are identified as Laddu Pandey and Shyam Sundar Pandey both of whom are in their mid 30s, according to a report in Times of India.
The two scribes were shot when they were having tea at a restaurant in Khaliyari Bazaar around 8.30 pm, said Vinod Kumar Singh, Additional SP.

The ASP said the two unidentified criminals reached the spot and fired 2-3 shots at the victims injuring them. They immediately fled the spot.
The incident triggered panic in the area and police were informed about the incident. Initially, the scribes were taken to a community health centre in Vaini area from where they were rushed to district hospital. They were later referred to BHU Medical College.
Police are yet to find any motive behind the firing incident. Police said the duo are out of danger and they will soon record their statements. Police said they are filing an FIR in the incident. Cops are also questioning other customers at the restaurant to idenify the motorbike and its registration plate.
