In Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the fire that broke out of buildings has been occurring frequently for the last few days. At least seven people have been killed in a fire that broke out at the Kamala building near Bhatia Hospital in Nana Chowk Gawalia Tank. Five died at Nair Hospital, one at Kasturba Hospital, and one at Bhatia Hospital. The fire at the Kamala building was of Level 3 nature. The fire brigade has managed to control the fire.
The Kamala building has 20 floors and a fire broke out on the 18th floor of the building. The fire broke out at around 7.30 this morning, according to the fire brigade. Fifteen people were injured in the blaze and have been admitted to hospitals. Thirteen fire engines and seven jumbo tankers arrived at the scene to put out the blaze.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Mayor Kishori Pednekar has visited the spot and inspected it.
At least 15 people were injured in a fire that broke out at Kamla building at Nana Chowk Gawalia Tank. Of the 15 people admitted to Bhatia Hospital, 12 have been admitted to the general ward. So, all three were admitted to the ICU. One of the patients has died. Five of the injured have been admitted to Nair Hospital and two are in stable condition. One died at Kasturba Hospital.
