A man in Kalyan allegedly ended his life after he was threatened and harassed by a gym owner.

Mumbai: A 24-year-old man in Maharashtra allegedly ended his life after he was harassed by a gym owner. The accused allegedly locked up the man and threatened him with dire consequences. The man was handed over the work of carpentry of the accused’s gym.

The accused has been identified as Vaibhav Parab. The owner of a fitness gym in Kalyan, the accused had given the contract of his under-construction gym’s interior work to the victim – Punma Chaudhari.

As per the cops, the carpenter was found hanging inside the gym on October 23. They said that Parab paid Rs 1 lakh as advance for the furniture work and the duo decided that the work would be completed before Diwali.

The progress, however, was slow and Parab threatened Chaudhari over the same. He allegedly locked the 24-year-old man and three workers inside the gym on October 19. He then asked to complete the work or he would not open the shutter.

The other labourers managed to flee by jumping out of the window, Chaudhari continued working at the gym. Later, he was allowed to leave but the accused did not stop threatening him. He was found dead on October 23.
