Sapan Papadwala & General Stores in Bhuleshwar is a sweet and dried fruit shop. Its owner brought Rit Prasad Verma from Jharkhand to Mumbai a few years back. As he has a knack for making sweets, Verma won the hearts of not only the owner but also the customers. Seeing his work, the owner promoted him to the shop and gave him the responsibility of cash counter. While managing the sweets and dried fruit department on the first floor, Verma used to take money from customers.

However, CCTV footage showed him putting it in his own pocket instead of throwing it at the counter. As soon as the owner hesitated about this, Verma apologized to the owner. He disappeared the next day, thinking it was all over. The owner lodged a complaint at the Lokmanya Tilak Marg Police Station on suspicion of being switched off.
