Patna: A woman in Katihar, Bihar, was allegedly raped by her employer when she asked him to pay wages. The woman, who worked as a daily wage labourer, asked her employer to pay her when he took her to a field on the pretext of giving more work. At the field, the accused allegedly raped the woman.
The accused allegedly filmed a video of the incident and threatened her with dire consequences. The accused allegedly told the woman that she would not get more work if she told anyone about the incident.
The woman claimed that she stayed mum about the incident for a few days. However, she broke her silence when the accused posted the video of the incident online and it went viral. After the video was posted, the woman approached the village sarpanch and a local activist helped the woman lodge a complaint.
Reportedly, the complainant had been working in the field for the last three days. The woman further alleged that the accused held her at gunpoint and raped her, Aaj Tak reported. He filmed the incident and due to the fear of social stigma, the woman refrained from sharing her plight with anyone.
After probing the allegations, the police arrested the accused man’s brother. The cops have been conducting raids to arrest the accused at the earliest. Meanwhile, the police sent the survivor to the Katihar Sadar Hospital for a medical examination. The cops have assured the accused will be nabbed at the earliest.
