Accused Firing on Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash, Slightly Injured

In Pimpri-Chinchwad, a police officer who went to arrest the accused in a murder case was shot dead. It is learned that Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash was injured in the clash between the police and the accused. Accused Ganesh Mote, Ashwin Chavan and Mahesh Mane had a scuffle for half an hour.

A few days back, a young man named Yogesh Jagtap was shot dead in Pimpri-Chinchwad, police said. Police had arrested seven people in the case. However, Ganesh Mote and Ashwin Chavan, the main facilitators of the case, were absconding. The entire Commissionerate of Police was working to find the two.

Three squads of Sangvi police, Gund Squad and Crime Branch Unit Four were investigating to find Ganesh Mote and Ashwin Chavan. According to police, Pimpri-Chinchwad police were searching for Ganesh Mote, Ashwin Chavan and Mahesh Mane, the main accused in the Yogesh Jagtap murder case.

Meanwhile, police had received information that the three were at Koye in Chakan area around 11 pm. Accordingly, Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash, Assistant Commissioner of Police Amritkar, Senior Inspector of Police Sunil Tonpe, Assistant Inspector of Police Satish Kamble and Harish Mane had gone to the spot.

Meanwhile, Ganesh Mote and Ashwin Chavan, two goons from Tadipar, shot dead Yogesh Jagtap at Kate Puram Chowk eight days ago.  Ganesh Mote and Ashwin Chavan had indiscriminately fired 10 to 11 bullets from their pistols, creating panic in Bhar Chowk. Yogesh Jagtap died on the spot.

Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck. The flicker lasted half an hour. Eventually the bullets in both pistols from the accused ran out. After that, Ganesh Mote, Ashwin Chavan and Mahesh Mane, who were hiding, were handcuffed by the police. Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash sustained minor injuries in the incident.
