: A 38-year-old man allegedly sexually assaulted a two-year-old girl in Mangaluru district of Karnataka on Sunday. After committing the heinous act, the accused threw the minor in a saltwater fish tank and fled but later the police managed to nab him.
As per reports, the minor girl’s parents are involved in cutting and salting fish. After concluding the day’s work at 4 pm, her parents went to buy some essentials and then headed back home. Upon arriving at home, they found that their two-year-old daughter was missing. Subsequently, they sprang up in a search for her.
The minor was found in an unconscious state inside the saltwater fish tank. She was immediately rushed to a hospital, where medics learnt that she had been sexually assaulted.
Subsequent investigation revealed that workers at the fish cutting and salting unit had spotted one Chandan, a native of Bihar, with the minor girl at 4 pm, according to a report by Deccan Herald.
The police then picked up Chandan. During questioning, he confessed to having sexually assaulted the girl. Meanwhile, the survivor is being administered treatment. She is said to be out of danger.
