Fully vaccinated foreign national tests Omicron positive, first such case in Chandigarh

India on Sunday reported yet another case belonging to the Omicron variant of COVID-19 after a 20-year-old man from Italy tested positive. According to the Chandigarh Health department, the individual had landed in the country on November 22. Diagnosed with COVID-19 on December 1, he has now tested positive for the Omicron variant.

The foreign traveller is incidentally fully inoculated with the Pfizer vaccine. Officials said that he has been tested for COVID-19 once again today. The report for the same is awaited.
