Hijab, scarf and burqa banned in MMP Shah College in Mumbai?

MMP Shah College is run by SNDT University in Matunga, Mumbai. And this college is currently under discussion because of the rules here. Because those wearing hijab, scarf, and burqa are not allowed in this college. After the hijab issue in Karnataka, this college is now in the midst of controversy.

While the ongoing hijab issue in Karnataka (Karnataka Hijab Controversy) is being discussed everywhere, MMP Shah College run by SNDT University in Mumbai has come under discussion. The college has banned those wearing hijab, scarf and burqa from entering the college. These rules are in the college manual booklet. One cannot enter college wearing a scarf, veil and burqa under these rules.

So now this college is being criticized. After the criticism on the college, the principal of the college, Dr. Leena Raje has denied the allegations. Also, for the safety of girls, such rules are written in the college prospectus.

Because in the past, boys used to harass girls by wearing such clothes. After realizing that, we have implemented this rule and before this, as a rule, we ask the girls to remove the veil or veil in the classroom.
