A 22-year-old youth was hacked to death by his three friends in Maharashtra’s Thane in a drunken brawl. The trio later abandoned his body near the Kharegaon railway crossing gate on Friday morning. After a detailed investigation, the city police managed to arrest them for committing the heinous offence.
According to the probe, the now-deceased man, identified as Gulam Shaikh landed up in a heated argument over some money issue with three of his friends- Akash Palas (20), Sunny Sonkar ( 23), Faizal Khan (24).
During the fight, in a fit of rage, the 3 accused brutally thrashed Shaikh and fled from the crime spot. Meanwhile, it was revealed that one of the accused Sonkar had two physical assault cases lodged against him earlier.
This comes days after a 27-year-old woman in Maharashtra’s Palghar district was allegedly strangled to death by her 31-year-old husband.
The husband was later arrested for this gruesome act and it was found that he took this drastic step as he suspected his wife of having an extra-marital affair.
Reports suggest that the duo often quarrelled with each other as the accused often suspected the character of his wife. In a fit of rage during the altercation, the accused took the help of the mobile phone charger to strangle his wife, identified as Neelamdevi to death and fled from the spot.
After a detailed probe, the cops were able to trace the accused in Gujarat, following which he was nabbed.
