Mumbai: A strange incident has taken place within the limits of VP Road Police Station. A young man has sold the baby of his partner ‘Live In’ for five lakhs. After the victim went out for work, the accused attacked the four-month-old girl. Police have arrested a total of eleven people, including the so-called father, in connection with the case. After four days of thorough interrogation, the accused confessed that he had sold the baby for Rs 5 lakh. Chimukali has since been taken into custody from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu.
According to the information received, Chimukali’s mother had gone out of town for work in the last few days. She had given her baby in the custody of house owner Anwari Sheikh. The woman’s live-in partner Ibrahim Sheikh was also at home. The housewife had been taking care of the baby for the past few days. However, the accused took the child into his custody saying that he wanted to vaccinate the child.
The housewife lodged a complaint with the VP Road police station after Ibrahim did not return with the baby. In this case, the police took it seriously. Police later arrested Ibrahim. After a thorough investigation, police raided several places and arrested four men, including two women.
After a thorough interrogation of the accused, he informed that the baby was sold in Tamil Nadu. Chimukali has since been taken into custody from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. Police also said that Ibrahim, who claimed to be the father of the baby, would undergo a DNA test. Chimukali has been handed over to a social organization by the police and further investigation is underway.
