Looking at the woman, showing obscene gestures, private parts

A youth has been arrested for flashing his private parts by looking at a woman and making obscene gestures. The incident took place at the Lower Parel railway station in Mumbai on Monday. Police have handcuffed the 32-year-old accused. The shocking incident took place two days ago with a woman standing at the Lower Parel railway station. The incident took place in a crowded area like a railway station during the day.

The accused is accused of making obscene gestures towards the woman while showing his private parts. The accused is identified as Shamshad Mumtaz Ansari, a resident of Indira Nagar, Kurla. The woman and her brother chased the accused and handed him over to the police.

According to the Mumbai Central Government Railway Police (GRP), the victim travels daily by local train from Lower Parel to Churchgate. For the last 8 to 10 days the concerned youth was looking at her and making obscene gestures. The victim arrived at the Lower Parel railway station with her brother around 9:33 a.m. Monday. The accused did the same at that time.

The woman’s brother then questioned the accused Ansari, who tried to push her brother away, the GRP official said. The victim and her brother chased the accused and arrested him and handed him over to the railway police at the station. Accused Shamshad Mumtaz Ansari was later arrested at Mumbai Central GRP Police Station.

Police stationed at the platform brought Ansari to the Mumbai Central GRP police station and arrested the accused on a complaint by the woman’s brother. Mumbai Central GRP senior police inspector Kedar Pawar told Mid-Day that the accused in the case was arrested under sections 354 (a) (d) and 509 of the IPC and produced in court where he was remanded in judicial custody.
