Mentally challenged girl raped in Bhiwandi: In yet another incident of sexual assault in the city of Mumbai, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her paternal uncle in the Bhiwandi area. The incident came to light when the girl told her parents about the assault.
The girl was allegedly assaulted by her uncle on September 10. After she complained to her family about the alleged rape, her family launched a complaint with the police at Bhiwandi taluka police station.

A case was registered against the 48-year-old accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code.
According to a report by the Free Press Journal, the accused was arrested on Sunday, September 12. The survivor has also undergone a medical examination.
