According to police, the minor’s father, a chronic alcoholic, often sent his daughter to parties with Langa Manganiyar (folk singers) for the past seven months, where some people would take her for a dance and sexually abuse her.
During one of these parties this year on the occasion of Holi, the minor was gang-raped by four men and got pregnant, police said.
When the minor refused to attend these parties, her inebriated father would beat her and threaten her not to speak to anyone about the incident.
After evicting the minor’s mother from the house, the accused father forced the minor girl into prostitution, for which he would receive between Rs 5,000 and Rs 8,000.
The girl was also barred from seeing her sister and mother for the past five to six years, police said.
The accused father informed the minor on June 21 that she would have to return to the hotels for another two days and even threatened to kill her if she did not comply to his orders.
The victim narrated her ordeal to her older sister and later fled to her maternal grandmother in Kelava Kala. After this, the girl’s father started threatening her by sending others to bring her back.
The minor told police that she got pregnant after she was gangraped, but remained silent for days fearing her father. When she told her stepmother about the ordeal, the latter asked her to take poison and threatened to sell her.
Meanwhile, Mathania police have launched an investigation in the matter and delegated it to Mandore ACP Rajendra Diwakar.
