Noida: Armed robbers loot cash collection agent of Rs 12 lakh in Sector 104

There seems to be no stopping criminals in Uttar Pradesh. In a fresh incident, armed robbers loot a cash collection agent of Rs 12 lakh in Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar district on Thursday.

The victim has been identified as Sukhveer. The incident took place when Sukhveer was returning to Delhi after collecting cash from clients in Sector 104 of Noida.

The robbers intercepted Sukhveer and threatened him at gunpoint and robbed him. Meanwhile, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sector 39 police station has been suspended for alleged negligence, according to a report in Indian Express.

“The agent had collected cash from several places and was stopped by bike-borne assailants in Sector 104. The accused threatened him and snatched the bag full of cash. A case has been filed in Sector 39 police station and we are gathering evidence. The CCTV footage of the area is being examined to trace the accused,” the report quoted a Noida police official as saying.

The collection agent is employed with a wholesale trader who has clients in several areas of Noida including Bhangel, Khora. As usual, Sukhveer went for cash collection on Thursday to handover it to his employer in Delhi.

The victim Sukhveer informed the police about the loot with the help of a passerby. Police have now filed a case under Section 392 (robbery) against unidentified accused in connection with loot.

Police suspect the robbers knew the area well and about the movement of the collection agent.
