Santosh Parab, a campaigner of Satish Sawant’s panel, was attacked during the Sindhudurg District Bank election campaign. A complaint was lodged alleging that the attack was carried out at the behest of MLA Nitesh Rane. Nitesh Rane and Gotya Sawant have knocked on the doors of the court as there is a possibility of arrest after the police arrested 8 persons in this case.

After two days of arguments on the application, Chief Justice of the District Sessions Court SV Hande has rejected the bail application. On December 18, Santosh Parab was attacked in Kankavali. Parab is close to District Bank Chairman Satish Sawant and is a former Sarpanch of Karanje village. He was attacked with a sharp knife by two persons who came from an Innova car.
