A high-profile family in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has committed suicide. Interior decorator and plywood businessman Amit Bansal committed suicide by hanging himself in his office. After her husband committed suicide, his wife also cut her own throat. The incident took place in Shastri Nagar Sector-1 in Meerut police station area. Amit Bansal runs a plywood and interior decorator business in a high profile colony at Shastri Nagar Sector-1 in the Meerut police station area. Amit Bansal lives with his family in a neighboring house. Amit had an argument with his wife for some reason, after which Amit Bansal reached his office in the afternoon and strangled him, according to preliminary information.
Amit’s wife Pinki also reached the office some time later, where she saw her husband hanging on the gallows and tried to commit suicide. Pinky cut her throat with a paper cutter, then she fell to the ground in a bloody state. After some time, the people of the area came to know about this and a single commotion broke out. Police from several police stations reached the spot. A forensic team was also called to the scene to gather evidence and an investigation was launched by the police.
So far, the police investigation has found only evidence of suicide. However, the cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained by the police. It is said that there was an argument between the husband and wife, which led to Amit Bansal’s decision to end his life and commit suicide by hanging. SP City Vineet Bhatnagar said Amit’s wife is still in the ICU. She is not in a position to say anything. Police are currently investigating the whole incident.
