Beauty queen Sushmita Sen’s daughter Reene recently revealed how people constantly ask her about her real mother to which the young actress had a few things to say.
In an interview with Peeping Moon she said, “You know, on my Instagram, I was asked these questions: ‘Who’s your real mother?’ I would just like to say, ‘please define real mother’. What is a ‘real mother?'”
“My truth is very much out there but what if someone else’s isn’t? We don’t know how it will affect them. I think we should be a little sensitive. For me, it is different because I have grown up with this truth and it doesn’t matter. But for someone who wants to keep their life private, we don’t know how your question can affect them. So, let’s not ask until a person tells you on their own”.
In another interview with Times of India Reene talked about her bond with her mom, she said, “My mother’s journey is very different from mine. She can always share her experiences but in the end, it’s my decision to take things forward. I can only be told about the pros and cons.
I have been in my mom’s shoes but I haven’t stayed there for long. Facing the camera is not easy. There are so many things to be taken care of. I have realised that wanting to be an actor and to actually become one are totally different things. You can be having a really bad day but you just can’t let that show in your work. I really got to learn a lot of things. Just like every other profession, you have to work really hard. Especially for the dreams that I have for myself, it’s going to take a lot of hard work.”
Sushmita had revealed in an earlier interview that when Renee turned 16, she offered to locate her biological parents.
Talking to Rajeev Masand, Sushmita had said, “I told her we don’t know if the court has the names of her biological parents but there is information in an envelope which is only rightfully hers after she turns 18. I didn’t want to give her the wrong information because I did not want her to go there and get her heartbroken. I told her, ‘I’ll take you whenever you’re ready… we must go.”

Sushmita Sen made her acting comeback after a long hiatus in the Disney+ Hotstar series Aarya in 2021.
