Team Abu Dhabi take on Northern Warriors in the 19th match of the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2021/22 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, November 27 at 5:30 PM (IST).
Team Abu Dhabi’s unbeaten run in the tournament finally came to an end as they lost their first game of the tournament against Bangla Tigers after five successive wins.
Bangla Tigers posted 130/5 batting first. It was a combined effort with the ball as Ahmed Daniyal, Marchant de Lange, Liam Livingstone, Danny Briggs and Naveen-ul-Haq all picked a wicket each. The openers failed to provide them with a good start as they were reduced to 23/2. However, Liam Livinsgtone and Chris Gayle kept them in the hunt. Livingstone smashed 20 runs off just 6 deliveries before getting out. Gayle remained unbeaten on 52 off just 23 deliveries but unfortunately found no support from anyone else as they fell short by 10 runs, ending on 120/7.
Nonetheless, Team Abu Dhabi are still at the top of the table with five wins and a defeat from six matches.
Meanwhile, defending champions Northern Warriors finally had some success as they registered their maiden win of the season against Chennai Braves. However, they failed to build on the momentum as they faced yet another defeat against Delhi Bulls last time out.
Batting first, they put up a total of 128/6 on the board. Skipper Rovman Powell took charge with a 22-ball 56 while Ross Whiteley (26) made a vital contribution. The runs were not enough to be defended as Delhi Bulls got home off the penultimate delivery with eight wickets to spare. Northern Warriors are placed fifth with just one win and five defeats from six games.
Team Abu Dhabi will fancy themselves to get back to winning ways in this match.
