Two men gangrape neighbourhood woman after threatening to expose her extramarital affair

Two men allegedly gang-raped a married woman at SR Nagar in Telangana’s Hyderabad on December 13, reportedly after threatening her that they would inform her family about her affair. A day later, the woman in question and her lover consumed pesticide to kill themselves but survived.

The married survivor is a construction worker. She was allegedly having an affair with one of her co-workers. On December 13, she left her house to go to meet her lover. The two men intercepted her and threatened to reveal her affair to her family members. They took her to a vacant room, where they allegedly gangraped her, according to the police.

On December 14, the woman and her lover went to an isolated spot in Vikarabad district, where the two consumed pesticide. Her lover, before becoming unconscious, phoned a family member and told him about the situation. Subsequently, both were traced and dashed to a hospital for medical care, The Times of India reported.

On Friday, the woman informed the police about the sexual assault after regaining consciousness at the medical facility. The police, subsequently, lodged a case of gangrape against the accused.

The accused, identified as Shahbaz, committed the crime when the minor was on her way to school. He allegedly lured her to a dilapidated building and sexually assaulted her.
