The Aarey Sub police have arrested two actors of Television serial Saavdahaan India on Thursday for robbing Rs 3.20 lakhs from a roommate.
The two were presented before the court where they were remanded to police custody till June 23rd.
According to the police Surabhi Shrivastava (25) and Mosina Mukhtar Shaikh (19) had been looking for for place to stay after the shooting of the serial was put on hold due to the locakdown owing to the pandemic. The women had an aquantiance who was a estate agent. He had found a house for the two as paying guests at a fast in Royal Palms area in Aarey Milk Colony.
On May 18th the women shifted in the flat where another woman had been staying. The police officers said that the womans’ roommate had also 3.20lakhs in the locker in the house.
“The actresses robbed the cash from the locker and fled the house” said a police officer from the Aarey Sub police station.
The police extracted the CCTV recordings of the building where the women were seeing the accused leaving the building with a bag of cash.
The police on Thursday arrested the women from Navi Mumbai and brought them to Aarey Sub. On questioning the women told the police that after the shooting of the serial was stalled, they had financial problems due to which they committed the crime.
